Bhagavad Gita 18.7
नियतस्य तु संन्यासः कर्मणो नोपपद्यते। मोहात्तस्य परित्यागस्तामसः परिकीर्तितः॥
Renunciation of prescribed duty is not proper. Abandoning prescribed duty out of delusion is declared to be in the mode of ignorance (Tamasic).
Shrinking from obligations due to confusion, apathy, or laziness is classified as Tamasic renunciation.
