Bhagavad Gita 14.15
रजसि प्रलयं गत्वा कर्मसङ्गिषु जायते। तथा प्रलीनस्तमसि मूढयोनिषु जायते॥
Meeting death in Rajas, one is reborn among those attached to work; and dying in Tamas, one is reborn in ignorant species.
Dying in passion leads to rebirth among ambitious workers; dying in ignorance leads to lower species or dark conditions.
