Bhagavad Gita 8.3
श्रीभगवानुवाच अक्षरं परमं ब्रह्म स्वभावोऽध्यात्ममुच्यते। भूतभावोद्भवकरो विसर्गः कर्मसञ्ज्ञितः॥
The Supreme Lord said: The imperishable, supreme entity is Brahman; one's inherent essential nature is called Adhyatma; and the creative force that originates physical existence is called Karma.
Krishna defines Brahman as the ultimate immortal reality, Adhyatma as the inner spiritual self, and Karma as the creative energy driving existence.
