Bhagavad Gita 3.27
प्रकृतेः क्रियमाणानि गुणैः कर्माणि सर्वशः। अहङ्कारविमूढात्मा कर्ताहमिति मन्यते॥
All actions are performed entirely by the modes of material nature. But one whose mind is deluded by false ego thinks, 'I am the doer.'
False pride tricks people into claiming individual ownership over actions driven by natural forces.
